/zroot mountpoint

Post by CodeSlinger »

Hi all!
This might be a question best sent to the freebsd community; but does anyone know why /zroot is mounted by default?
I do not know of any standard processes that use this mount, nor does it seem required to run FuryBSD.
Am I shooting myself in the foot by running:

Code: Select all

sudo zfs unmount /zroot
sudo zfs set mountpoint=none zroot
Thanks

Not meaning to reply to myself, but wanted to close this thought...
I have unmounted /zroot and removed the mountpoint with no problems to date. If anyone finds a need for that mountpoint, I am all ears, but it serves no value that I can find.
